Looking for an Application Specialist for a client of TFC - Talent Force Cooperation.

for one of our customers tfc - talent force cooperation is looking for a application specialist.

in this position, you are responsible for managing the applications supported within the business systems department.

the responsibility of the applications team is to operate and maintain large 3^rd party applications like infranet, vantive, ull, voip applications, support the reporting team, and provide our testing environments.

from this perspective, you are expected to gain a full understanding of the complete related technical architecture.

this includes the following activities:

support applications delivery, performance and availability:

- participate in design, architecture and documentation of application delivery.

- participate in creating clear technical specifications in order for the delivery to be compliant with the operations delivery rules.

- coordinate delivery of new releases with the delivery & acceptance coordinator, system administrators and other business systems staff.

- manage application delivery mechanism and test platforms.

- participate in online breedband systems architecture.

- monitor impact of future releases on online breedband applications.

- ensure compliance with application license agreements.

manage exploitation & monitoring of the applications (design, implementation, architecture of application specific monitoring tools):

- work in process improvement teams and facilitate process improvement activities.

- work with qa team to implement qa processes.

- perform continuous process improvement.

- conduct investigations and identifies the causes of quality problems, recommended corrective actions and revised procedures in high-volume, mission-critical business system consisting of client-server architecture and a diverse set of computer systems, operating systems, databases, and applications software.

- report all unsafe practices/incidents and initiate an audit site practices if necessary.

- organise debriefing/post mortem after incidents.

- create test strategies and objectively assess risks.

- identify, assess and report risks; action to deal with risks.

- manage risk and report to management, especially risks which cut across core business activities and organizational boundaries.

- design, implement, improve application exploitation tools and process in order to facilitate exploitation automation and reliability.

- design, implement, improve application monitoring tools and process in order to facilitate accuracy of the monitoring.

- work with database administrators and system administrators to tune applications.

- design, implement and coordinate application strategies for backup/recovery and fault tolerance in an environment where data is mirrored between multiple data centers.

- work with system administrators and dbas in establishing optimal operating system and database parameters.

- document policies, processes and standards for access, security, backup & recovery, etc...

hard skills:

- hbo+.

- minimum of 4 years experience with at least one of the major software platforms (infranet, vantive, axiom).

- minimum of 2 years experience in people/team management.

- excellent knowledge of / experience with client-server architectures and a diverse set of computer systems, operating systems, databases, and application software.

- good knowledge of / experience with software development.

- good knowledge of / experience with web applications development.

- good knowledge of / experience with at least one dbms required (e.g. oracle, mysql, ms sql, postgresql, etc).

- experience with unix (solaris preferred).

- good knowledge of / experience with perl, php, java servlets, xml.
