for one of our relations in den haag we are looking for a sdh/atm transmission network consultant.

task

- the current alcatel 1678mcc implementation limits the possible usage. for this, consultancy is needed to check the protection mechanisms and possibilities for improvement. this can be implemented during the optimization of the 4 core locations. furthermore, the number of 1660sm can be decreased with the optimization of the sites. below, the current situation of one site is depicted. it is intended to keep the 'pink' 1660sms only.

- a detailed analysis of the sdh network needs to be performed. this requires:

an analysis of traffic patterns and network capacity.

an exposure of traffic routing problems and network inefficiencies.

this would require manual path by path analysis. also optimizations activities need to be planned and implemented.

- has good knowledge of alcatel-lucent sdh (1660sm, 1662smc, 1678mcc), dwdm (1696ms) systems, isa-atm interfaces and management systems (1353nm, 1354rm and 1354bm atm);

- has experience with protection mechanisms such as msp1+1, sncp and ms-spring;

- has operated in an operational-, engineering- and design- transmission environment;

- is accurate, especially for documentation and updating network information;

- has a pro-active and cando mentality;

- needs to be familiar with the operational situation the clients sdh and atm network after a period of 2-3 weeks.

pre:

- has basic knowledge of unix, ip, hp ov, nms and synchronization;

- has basic field experience to know how to connect the different kind of ddf/odf/patching to sdh network elements;

- is capable of transferring knowledge to others;

- is open and strong in communication (verbally and in writing).
