For our client, Origin Fruit Direct B.V., part of the Mahindra Group, we are looking for a strong result and people oriented Sales Director with experience in the international fruit market, who will develop the sales operations and lead the current team towards success. 

Origin Fruit Direct is a market leader in production, sourcing, logistics and sales of grapes and citrus products. As part of the Mahindra Group of India, Origin Fruit Direct in the Netherlands has established sales and marketing operations in all main European markets. OFD partners up with its customers, shareholding and partner growers, and suppliers to deliver tasty, fair produced, healthy, safe and convenient fruit and fruit solutions.

 As a Sales Director, you will be responsible for leveling-up the sales process with focus on several aspects such as managing and developing the current successful sales team, achieving significant results in adding new customers to the portfolio, but also managing the existing customers. Moreover, you will be in charge of developing supply programs and marketing strategies with customers for existing and new concepts. The main focus of the role are the end customers, mainly supermarkets, but also processors, food service and wholesale customers. You will be part of the management team in the company, and  your market scope will include: Scandinavia, the DACH countries, Eastern and Southern Europe, Benelux, France and the United Kingdom.

Results to be achieved by the Sales Director

  • You will be involved in the daily sales operations through management of the Sales Team. You will be in charge of motivating them to results and development, and you will have the opportunity to enlarge your team;
  • Looking at the business in the broader perspective and enriching the portfolio with supply programs and new customers, eventually also outside the European borders. Developing marketing concepts around new varieties, packaging solutions, CSR and sustainable farming;
  • Maintaining successful long term cooperation with existing customers through development of supply programs for existing and new product concepts as well as new supply chain concepts.

The requirements for this position

  • Strong commercial talent, with a holistic view of the businesses. Strong analytical skills and capacity to propose solutions unlocking potential businesses with the objective of adding value to the supply chain;
  • Experience in sales of fruits and vegetables with proven track record in development of new customers and supply programs dedicated mainly to retail customers is mandatory. Experience in successfully developing new marketing and supply chain concepts with customers;
  • Good management and people skills, able to motivate the team towards success. Team player who connects sales with procurement teams, logistics, quality and finance, so that the process is highly efficient.
