The ideal candidate

For our client Van Oord in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Manager Data & Analytics. As Manager Data & Analytics you develop the vision and strategy for the correct way of data use within the organization. You realize a continuous improvement process in which the data function improves, so that added value can be obtained from data. On one hand you are the consultant who proposes, specifies and realizes new concepts, whereas on the other hand you are the manager who inspires and motivates your team.

Digitalization and Data Management is an important strategic objective within Van Oord, where the Manager Data & Analytics plays a very important role. You play an active role in multidisciplinary issues at both a local and international level that focusses on data strategy, data governance, data management and data quality. In addition, you like to work closely with disciplines such as (digital) operations, security, architecture and you further expand your team to optimally support the organization.

You are experienced in leading change and major transformation projects, i.e. developing an approach and planning, monitoring and controlling progress and stakeholder management in multifunctional teams.

  • Designing and drafting the Data management strategy and ensuring that this is supported within the business.
  • Creating a vision and tactical strategy to make the organization more data-driven.
  • Develop vision and strategy with stakeholders at board level.

Which knowlegde, expertise and responsibilities do we expect?

  • 5-10 years of working experience with IT and data management. Bridging the gap between business processes and strategic developments as well as using your vision at the right time to achieve business objectives. Knowledge and experience with (meta-) data management, data models and data-driven innovations and experience with Lean and Agile/Scrum.

  • A bridge builder who is able to provide a data management mindset within the organization and who can “sell” the vision at various levels in understandable language. A pragmatic, hands-on mentality with strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.

  • Responsible for developing the vision and strategy for the correct use of data within the organization.
