The ideal candidate

For our client, a big Retail organization from the FMCG industry, we are looking for an Head of Technology, to manage the Datawarehouse/BI department!

As a Head of Technology, you are responsible for leading the highly ambitious team of more than 25 engineers that are currently executing the migration from Oracle to Azure environment. You have also an external stakeholder responsibility and vendors’ management. You are responsible for monitoring the product specifications, creating and executing against the project plan, proactively mitigating risks, and managing the migration and development life cycle from inception to production launch and post production support. You develop a data-driven environment and you inspire an innovative mindset.

You are reporting directly to the Platform Director. You have a result oriented mindset and have great leadership and communication skills. You drive the change forward and represent a trusted partner for all sides involved in the cloud migration.

Results to be achieved

  • You will be leading the department that is currently going through a large cloud migration project from Oracle to Azure environment. You partner with the development team to deliver on time and with the quality required. You anticipate problems and complications, and formulate solutions so as not to impede the progress of the project. You ensure all business systems, IT systems, partner platforms and networks are in place to support the migration
  • You are leading and coaching a team of 27 engineers who are fully dedicated to the migration. You are creating a data-driven environment and promoting an innovative mindset towards providing the best and timely-efficient solutions
  • You work with business and customer stakeholders to define the objectives and requirements. You also lead the vendor selection process (including RFPs and Pricing) and manage against deliverables (including SOWs, change management, approval of deliverables)

Requirements

  • You have university degree in quantitative discipline such as engineering or computer/natural science. You have understanding of technology and strong interest to work in it
  • You have more than 10 years of Management experience of tech department in a complex organization. You have understanding of the FMCG sector and the high-dynamic atmosphere they work in
  • You are innovative and efficient towards the solution. You are a motivator and you have a coaching leadership style. You are present and involved in the everyday work of the team, making sure the best quality is delivered in a positive working atmosphere

Location & conditions

  • The work location is in Amsterda
  • The contract form depends from the client and the candidate. Both Interim and employee contract form are possible for this assignment
  • The language you need to speak is English.
  • The required level of education is University Degree
